Things I don't have to do
Rachel J. Kwon is a recent find, but she has a powerful, immensely relatable voice. Here she reminds herself, and us, that there's a lot of things we can say no to.
Websites must be accessible
People who look for information on the Internet now find containers of narcissism for clients, designers and developers whose ego is expressed with full-page, 4-MB-a-piece images, useless animations that make navigation less “boring”, and complex frameworks used to build one or two pages maximum. Which is irrelevant to those who thought of these pages on a 27″ screen with a 100-Mbps download connection – just like a button too high to be reached while seated makes no difference for a person who is able to stand up.
Having spent some time recently removing bloat from a large React app, this post resonated with me a lot. It's easy to let things slide when you don't look past your context (works on my machine, etc.)
Andy's Working Notes
Stumbled upon this treasure trove of a page through James Wong's "My Obsidian Workflow" (itself worthy of checking out). Andy Matuschak has set up a very interesting system for navigating his notes, with no search function, just links and backlinks. It helps that he has a lot to write about.
