The writing here is visceral, extremely physical at times, really putting you into the mind and body of the protagonist in a way I haven’t felt in a long time. It’s so much more than a book about fandom. It’s a beautifully heartbreaking exploration at what it means to be unmoored, to have no one and nothing to hold to, and how one can crawl out of that hole rather than being consumed by it.
